Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) may be facing off against an ensemble of villains called the Serpent Society in Captain America 4, suggests new insider info. The criminal organization was inspired by the Avengers and Marvel’s first family ensemble. Though the report indicates the big-bad group will consist of five members working alongside Valentina allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), on a mission to obtain a special metal, long rumored to be Adamantium.
Captain America: New World Order is currently rolling the cameras in Atlanta so details regarding unannounced cast members like Liv Tyler slipped to the public thanks to set images. Similarly, it looks like Marvel insiders are also uncovering tidbits of information from Captain America 4 that have been under wraps.
According to Jeff Sneider, Val will be working with five different villains in New World Order to form the Serpent Society. Speaking on The Hot Mic, the reporter also stated Red Hulk would appear, seemingly confirming Harrison Ford‘s Thunderbolt Ross would transform into Red Hulk.
The Serpent Society will be on a mission to “obtain a special metal that is not vibranium” said Sneider. It was earlier reported that the Thunderbolts movie would see the team on a mission to Tiamut Island to obtain Adamantium. It seems the metal famously known to be Wolverine’s source of power and healing factor would first appear in Captain America 4. A report from January from CanWeGetSomeToast had claimed Diamondback was confirmed to be one of the members of the Society.

It sounds plausible when compared to earlier rumors indicating Captain America 4’s story could lead into Thunderbolts movie. Since Val is expected to be the leader of the Thunderbolts and the mastermind responsible for unleashing Sentry – Valentina’s Adamantium mission could continue in the villain ensemble flick after failing with the Serpent Society in Cap 4. Sneider also said on the podcast that the metal would connect to the X-Men.
Sam is also rumored to form/recruit a new Avengers in Captain America 4 though he is not expected to be the face of the group like Steve Rogers due to his lack of superhuman ability. It’s not far-fetched to think Sam’s superhero ensemble manage to stop the Society. In any case, this is currently speculative so readers are advised to take it with a grain of salt.
