While fans are eagerly waiting to get the first official look at Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, a new painted magazine cover has surfaced online spotlighting the MCU character for her upcoming standalone movie.

Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has graced the cover page of Brazilian magazine Mundo Dos Super-Herois (courtesy Comic Book Movie). The concept art-like version of the character shows Carol donning her iconic signature red, blue, and gold ensemble. You can check out the magazine cover below.

Now that Captain Marvel is mere seven months away from release, fans are expecting that the film’s first official reveal isn’t too far off. Back in June, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Comic Book fans not expect the first Captain Marvel trailer to come out until later in the year.

Set in the 1990s, the upcoming film will reveal Carol Danvers’ journey from being a U.S. Air Force pilot to a superhero.

During a recent interview with Collider, screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet opened up about working on the upcoming Marvel movie, teasing the character’s ass-kicking nature.

We really were bringing so much of what was already in the comics onto the screen, it felt like, in terms of the amazing character who’s so funny and sassy and talks back, and she’s fearless,” said Robertson-Dworet. “I love that Carol Danvers is so funny. She has a blast when she kicks ass. Those comics are amazing! It’s an amazing world and sandbox to play in. You’re working with incredibly creative people, every day. I had a total dream experience.”

Directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel also stars Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, McKenna Grace, Algenis Perez Soto, and Annette Bening in yet-to-be-disclosed roles.

Captain Marvel is scheduled to debut in theaters on March 8, 2019.
