It seems the filming of Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is officially underway in California. The film’s production work will reportedly continue throughout the year and will wrap in February 2019, a month away from its release as we earlier reported.
An Instagram user who goes by the name Nicki Robbins just posted a video which shows Brie Larson as Carol Danvers in the green Captain Marvel suit getting ready to film a scene. The video also shows either her stunt double or a stand-in in the scene. Notably, the video clip only shows the actor and production artists preparing to film a scene. It doesn’t give any other clues as to what the scene is all about. You can check out the video.
For fans that have been wondering whether or not Captain Marvel will pop up in the soon-to-be-released third Avengers title, Avengers: Infinity War, there’s some good news for you.
Avengers: Infinity War co-director Joe Russo has confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that Captain Marvel will be getting screen time in the movie. When Joe was asked a question about the female characters in the film, he said that they are proud to introduce the female superhero in the next Avengers film.
“Yeah, we have some great female characters in this,” Joe said. “Captain Marvel is in it, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, we have Wakanda is coming in and there’s a whole group of characters that are coming from the Wakandan universe, from the Black Panther universe.”
“Amazingly strong characters, strong-willed characters, and we have the Guardians, and two of the Guardians are daughters of Thanos so there’s a really strong connection to the main villain of the story and I think you’ll see in the film that they’re very pivotal to the storyline and I think the arcs are fantastic so, we’re really really proud of being able to introduce Captain Marvel in this one,” the Avengers: Infinity War co-director added.
