Captain Marvel First Scene Description Mentions Starforce’s Dangerous Mission

Last week, fans got their first glimpse at Marvel’s first female superhero Captain Marvel in recently released official pictures by Entertainment Weekly. Brie Larson’s Air-Force-pilot-turned-superhero is also featured on the cover page of EW’s new issue which finds her somewhere between the Earth and the sky.

While it was expected that the upcoming film would focus on Captain Marvel’s origin story, it isn’t exactly accurate. According to EW, Larson’s Carol Danvers will already have her superpowers when the film begins. She will be shown as a part of a Kree military team known as Starforce, led by Jude Law. However, she will return back to Earth in wake of a Skrull invasion.

A Twitter user who goes by the username Marvel_Freshman has shared a photo of the pages from the magazine’s latest issue that describes a scene description from EW’s set visit. The first scene will reportedly see Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers leading the Starforce on a mission to hunt a missing spy.

The scene in question may have been filmed in California, but the location was used to portray planet Torfa for the movie, complete with blue-streaked sand and towering stone archways. Planet Torfa first appeared in the pages of Captain Marvel #2.

While the missing spy’s identity remains unclear at the moment, it could likely be a Starforce member. The mission will be a dangerous one considering the looming threat from the shape-shifting Skrulls.

One of the Captain Marvel photos features the assembled Starforce team including the titular superhero, Mar-Vell (Jude Law), Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou), and Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan). It is already confirmed that actor Ben Mendelsohn will be playing the part of Talos, leader of an alien invasion of Earth.

More information about Captain Marvel storyline, plot and cast details are expected to be out soon.

Captain Marvel will arrive in cinemas on March 8, 2019.
