Finally, Marvel studios have dropped the first trailer for Captain Marvel and it is everything that fans expected it to be. Earlier yesterday, it was revealed by Good Morning America that the trailer will be released today.
As earlier revealed, it looks like the film won’t delve into the origin of Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel right from the start. Even the trailer starts with the female superhero plummeting down to earth and crashing into a Blockbuster video store.
It seems like some of Carol Danvers’ origin will be explained in parts through flashback scenes as she recollects her memories.
From the looks of it, Carol Danvers seems to be having a problem with recollecting her past memories. Fortunately, she seems to fall under the S.H.I.E.L.D. radar which leads to Nick Fury finding her.
The trailer gives the first look at a de-aged Nick Fury and Phil Coulson who will be a rookie S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the movie. Clearly, the makers have done a wonderful job at de-aging the actors. But the trailer won’t just appeal to the movie audience but will also please comic fans as it has included Captain Marvel’s comic accurate helmet sporting her Mohawk.
The trailer offers glimpses of the Skrulls, the antagonist characters are expected to play a primary role in the movie. One scene shows Nick Fury and his team opening up what seems to be a dead Skrull.
Another scene shows Captain Marvel punching an old woman but clearly, it’s a Skrull in disguise. You can check out the trailer below.
The trailer also offers a glimpse at the action that takes place in space. We also get a shot of Ronan the destroyer. The trailer ends with Captain Marvel donning the red and yellow suit and powering up.
Captain Marvel hits theatres on March 8, 2019.
