Avengers: Infinity War is going to be one of the biggest films that the world has ever witnessed. Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has confirmed that at least 76 characters will be playing some role or the other in this huge Marvel film.
Avengers: Infinity War is all set to hit the theaters, and it seems from the looks of it that the movie will go on to become a global box office phenomenon.
Speaking to Toronto Sun in an interview, Chris Hemsworth explained the feat saying that this will be the biggest movie in film history. He said:
“This is one of the biggest things in film history and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face — with Thanos — there’s been nothing quite like it. There are 76 cast members or something like that. I think what people are going to be excited about is what I was excited about and that’s Thor meeting the Guardians and Iron Man meeting Doctor Strange.”
The actor could not help but express his admiration for directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who have the responsibility of bringing everything together and pulling it off. He said about them:
“They’re going to be massive. I finished literally two days ago and I looked at (directors) Joe and Anthony (Russo) and said, ‘I don’t know how you guys have gotten this far and I don’t know how you’re going to hold it together and complete this thing, but my hat’s off to you.’”
Hemsworth is not the first actor to be amazed by the sheer level of challenge the Russo brothers have faced in filming Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. Earlier, actress Karen Gillan and Sebastian Stan have also shared their thrilling and tough experience of filming with a huge cast.
We know for sure that all 76 characters or more will not have a meaty role to play in the film, with a few appearing in a scene or two. but there may be some sequences where they may all have to come together.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in for a major change when Avengers: Infinity War will hit the theaters on May 4th this year. The fight against the Mad Titan will continue until Avengers 4, which will act as the end of Phase 3 of the MCU.
Avengers 4 is scheduled to hit the theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
