Christopher McQuarrie Continues To Shows Interest In Directing A Superman Movie

It seems Mission: Impossible — Fallout writer-director Christopher McQuarrie is still yet to have a talk with Warner Bros. on possibly helming a  Superman movie.

During a recent Q&A session conducted on Twitter, when a fan asked McQuarrie about directing a DC Comics movie, he said the studio very well knows where they can find him.

“They still know where to find me,” McQuarrie answered on Twitter.

When screenwriter Zack Stentz offered to write the first draft for an All-Star Superman movie, the director simply said he would call him, once the studio contacts him.

If they ever call me, I’ll call you,” McQuarrie replied.

Well, this is not the first time that the Mission: Impossible — Fallout director has shown interest in directing a DC comic book film.

During an interview with Screen Rant conducted back in July, when McQuarrie was asked to comment on the rumors of him directing a Man of Steel sequel, he replied that a good story will be his first priority.

To me, I’m interested in a good story,” McQuarrie said. “That’s really what it is. I mean, when Man of Steel came up, it was because somebody had asked me, did I want to work with Henry again? Which I would in a second. I go through the door that opens.”

Notably, Henry Cavill’s return to the role of Superman is currently in question as the actor’s representatives failed to reach an agreement with WB for a cameo in Shazam!, which stars Zachary Levi and will be released on April 5, 2019.

During the Q&A session, McQuarrie also offered some update on Edge of Tomorrow 2. When a fan asked the filmmaker whether Edge of Tomorrow sequel is in the pipeline, he replied that they are working on the film is currently, but, he has no idea when it will start taking shape.
