CinemaCon 2022 Day 2’s “BIG PICTURE” presentation from Warner Bros. kickstarted with a big sizzle reel revealing an exciting slate of DC films namely The Flash, Black Adam, Aquaman and the Last Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. While The Batman wasn’t among them, its success deserved a separate announcement from the director announcing the green light for The Batman 2 as Robert Pattinson reprises The Dark Knight and Matt Reeves returns to direct.

The special panel for WB’s DC film attracted attendees with logos from all upcoming DC flicks as seen below. But prior to the presentation at The Colosseum – Reeves was a speaker at the “State of the Industry” presentation and stated he’d “ensure the future of the motion picture theatrical experience”.

Warner Bros. Hall-H-Esque’s presentation at CinemaCon 2022 wasn’t just all DC with the studio also offering a sizzle reel at Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis and a trailer for Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh. Furthermore, teasing footage from the Timothée Chalamet starring musical, Wonka was showcased. In fact, the DUNE star was also shown singing and says, “You have never had chocolate like this,” and begins to dance while walking down a pothole. What’s more, the studio released the first look at Margot Robbie as Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie set to theatres in 2023.

Speaking more on the DC Extended Universe, Black Adam titular star Dwayne Johnson made an appearance at CinemaCon 2022 and took the stage before unveiling the trailer. “This truly is a dream of mine. I see Black Adam as being the Dirty Harry of the superhero world,” said The Rock. Johnson also voices Krypto for DC’s super pets which also got a new trailer, screened at the BIG PICTURE presentation.

During Luhrmann’s presentation addressing Elvis, the director also shared his love for The Batman franchise. Though he then stated, “But we can’t only live on Batman.” Journalists present during the sizzle’s screening praised the film highly.

Outside the world of Comic book movies, WB included its Horror franchise in the sizzle reel, confirming The Nun 2 project is in development. Stay tuned for more updates with a detailed description of all trailers.
