The release date of the untitled Cloverfield 3 has been pushed further from February 2, 2018 to April 20, 2018. The movie, the third in the series, has gotten another release date. Paramount Pictures has confirmed that the sci-fi movie won’t be hitting theaters next month but instead in April.
The untitled Cloverfield movie, earlier titled God Particle is a standalone sequel to Dan Trachtenberg’s 10 Cloverfield Lane, released in 2016. This will be the third film in the J.J. Cloverfield 3 has gotten yet another new release date. Paramount Pictures has confirmed to ComingSoon.net that the film’s release date has been moved from February 2, 2018 to April 20, 2018.
The film’s release date was first pushed from February 2 to October 17, 2017. The April date announcement is the newest change in the release date.
The push-back might disappoint a few fans. However, considering that the marketing and promotion work on the film is yet to begin, the April date sounds more appropriate.
The film narrates the story of a group of astronauts who find themselves in a horrifying situation. After an accident with a particle accelerator, they get to know that Earth no longer exists in the universe. It all becomes stranger when they come in contact with another space station close by. The team is thrown out of their comfort zones and must adjust to the new surrounding in order to survive in outer space.
Directed by Julius Cloverfield of The Girl is in Trouble fame, the movie has its script written by writer Oren Uziel (Freaks of Nature and 22 Jump Street). The script was later rewritten by Doug Jung (Star Beyond).
Cloverfield 3 stars David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, John Krasinski, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Chris O’Dowd, and Daniel Bruhl.
