In Creed 2, Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed will be facing off against one of the fiercest and toughest opponents of his lifetime. Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago who infamously killed Apollo Creed in Rocky IV issues a challenge to Adonis. From the trailer, it’s clear that the young Creed takes on the fight without a second thought.
Warner Bros. has released two new stills of Florian “The Big Nasty” Munteanu who plays as Viktor Drago. One of the images show him fighting another opponent in the ring and clearly, he seems to be capable of taking him down. You can check out the stills below.
While the young Creed will be fighting for revenge and his destiny, it looks like Viktor Drago also might be fighting for the same. Actor Dolph Lundgren recently spoke to The Sun and in his interview revealed that Ivan Drago has had a hard time since losing the fight with Rocky.
“He’s had a rough time,” said Lundgren.”He’s lost everything — his country, his wife, his respect and he’s been living as an outcast when we find him.
“The only thing he has that’s worth anything, apart from his drive for redemption, is his son who is another heavyweight fighter. This is Drago’s chance for revenge for what’s he’s gone through.”
It will be interesting to see the two fight for the honor of what they believe in. But it seems like for Adonis Creed, Drago won’t be the only opponent he’ll have to face in Creed 2.
In other news, Variety reports that Mike WILL Made-It will be executive producing the soundtrack for Creed 2. The record producer will be collaborating with composer Ludwig Göransson and music supervisors Fam Rothstein and Jen Malone to compose the music for the film.
“I approached the music by first watching ‘Creed II’ and then creating a playlist of songs people could work out to, chill to, vibe to or to get them through any struggle which matched specific scenes in the movie,” said Mike WiLL in announcing his involvement. “It’s important to show the new generation that soundtracks can be just as exciting as traditional albums if put in the hands of the right curator. After people hear the music, I want them to say movie soundtracks are back.”
Creed 2 hits theaters on November 21, 2018.
