The CW has released a 30-second promo trailer for its’ upcoming crossover of Crisis On Earth-X that showcases the events that unite the heroes of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow for a special two-night event.
The Crisis On Earth-X crossover will feature the Arrowverse heroes taking on the Nazi doppelgängers in order to foil their evil plans and prevent its Doomsday weapon from going off.
The promo starts with a voice (It sounds like Cisco) that says, “They have a weapon. A doomsday weapon.” At the time that he is saying this, a quick shot of the Earth-X version of Supergirl in her scary looking face mask is revealed. The footage also gives us a peek in what seems to be Barry and Iris in a wedding mode. A clip that features all the heroes walking together in slow motion indicates the importance of Alex Danvers in the crossover.
Apart from this, there are also scenes of Wentworth Miller’s return as Citizen Cold, the Nazi version of Captain Cold. The evil version of Green Arrow (one of two alternate bow-wielders) will make its mark in the new series.
The crossover this year is more of a four-hour movie than a four-part special. Speaking about his experience shooting for the crossover, Stephen Amell (Arrow star) said, “When we first did the crossover, I guess back in our third season and The Flash’s first season, it was very much like ‘It’s an episode of The Flash where I show up, and then an episode of Arrow where he shows up,’” Arrow star Stephen Amell said recently. “And even last year, it was like ‘You know, Flash showed up on Supergirl, and then it was an episode of The Flash, an episode of Arrow and an episode of Legends.’ But this year is just a four-hour movie.”
The Arrowverse crossover of last year titled Invasion saw the stars of The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow team up for a narrative inspired from the 1988 DC Comics event with the same name.
The new Crisis On Earth-X crossover will begin with Supergirl and Arrow (on a special night for one week only) on Monday, November. 27. It will conclude with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
