This March will bring DC fans the longest Batman film to date, theatrically, as reports confirm Matt Reeves’ DC film will have a runtime of 2hrs 55 minutes, including credits sequence. Furthermore, the director had a small offering for the fandom on social media, releasing the full theme track for Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight scored by the talented Michael Giacchino.
Reeves has always appreciated filmmaking in higher quality/format and in fact, he previously released The Batman trailer in 4K version via Vimeo. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise the director has gone the extra mile for the film’s quality control by taking it to IMAX’s HQ. Yes, Reeves tweeted the update saying, “Just finished [quality control]-ing the movie on a massive screen at @IMAX. Looked and sounded so incredible” while he can be seen looking at the large screen. The official Twitter account for IMAX shared another BTS dubbing it, “The Bat and The Matt stopped by IMAX HQ today.”
DC fans are buzzing over every little crumb of update and many are already quizzing reeves if the movie will have an expanded aspect ratio (1:90:1) for IMAX or the usual aspect ratio of 2:39:1. Meanwhile, fans are also raving over the DC flick being the longest Batman film yet, clocking in close to 3hours. Though, Zack Snyder’s Justice League still stands as the longest superhero movie with a runtime of 4hr 2 minutes and Ben Affleck’s Batman at the forefront.

If that wasn’t enough to break the internet, Giacchino’s 6 min 47-sec theme has quickly become a fan favorite. Many are going far as comparing the score to Hans Zimmer’s track for Man of Steel. Readers can check out reactions below.
I love that Robert Pattinson's Batman theme has elements of the Animated Series' theme yet it still has it's own unique elements within it. It's mysterious, haunting, gothic, heroic, stoic, and vengeful all at once- they nailed the theme.

The Batman could be 4 hours with an intermission and I’d still watch the hell out of it. Three hours of Batman, Giacchino’s score, and Matt Reeves’ filmmaking sounds like bliss to me. pic.twitter.com/mXC8Mfa8z4

Clearly, the reactions are a good indication that anticipation remains high for the reboot DC title. Early buzz is vaguely hyping the film for its shock elements and horror vibes. The Batman will arrive in theatres on March 4, 2022, and later on HBO Max on April 19, 2022.
