An unexpected gift arrived from Matt Reeves after the director dropped an extended new trailer for The Batman in 4K quality. DC fans were surprised to see the promotional content uploaded on Vimeo in a higher quality format, offering a deeper look into the World’s Greatest Detective and his partner in crime, Catwoman as they attempt to stop Riddler’s plot against Gotham.
The trailer titled “The Bat and The Cat” briefly teases Batman and Catwoman’s romance as well as their frictions leading to some sparring between each other. But the main spotlight remains on Riddler’s terror. Several cinematic shots from the trailer were an extension of the earlier trailer revealed at DC FanDome. Nevertheless, it has fans thrilled for the film’s noir mysterious plot.
DC fans were delighted to be treated with a higher quality video on Vimeo rather than the compressed version on Youtube. Several scenes from the new trailer are already viral on Twitter with many praising Reeves. Readers can check out their reactions below.

A new plot description for The Batman offers a better explanation of the Dark Knight’s journey and his current nemesis:
“From Warner Bros. Pictures comes Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne. Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.
When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.
The Batman releases on March 4, 2022, and the DC film has also been confirmed to arrive on HBO Max after the theatrical exclusive window period.
