Ezra Miller’s controversy continues to put many DC fans on the fence with some even rooting for the Justice League star’s replacement from The Flash movie. But a large fan following has also stood by him hoping the actor finds mental health support. Amid this turmoil, a new report claimed Dylan O’Brien would replace Miller for the speedster role, setting off dissent on social media.
The Flash movie is currently in post-production after just wrapping up principal photography last October. But the ongoing legal trouble for Miller, prompting recasting rumors has gained traction once again after Screen Geek reported that WB is considering replacing him with The Maze Runner star.

I'm told that WB is *not* considering replacing Ezra Miller on THE FLASH. Miller was arrested twice in Hawai'i this year, once for disorderly conduct and harassment, and again for second-degree assault.

The shocking rumor was struck down by Variety’s senior reporter stating that the studio is “not” considering replacing the Fantastic Beasts actor. Since then, the news has many contemplating if the studio should or shouldn’t hire a new actor to play DC’s speedster. Readers can check out reactions below.
It would be for the better for the film and probably shooting set if the rumors are true that Warner Brothers wants to replace Ezra Miller with Dylan O'Brien as The Flash. O’Brien is a consummate performer and he’s got a really good work ethic.

I don’t want Dylan O’Brien to be The Flash, I want him to be NIGHTWING pic.twitter.com/Gy0uZRaunf

It would cost WB probably tens of millions of dollars. This isn't a Christopher Plummer replacing Kevin Spacey situation; Ezra Miller is the lead and villain of the film. Depending on what happens with Miller's PR in the next year, I can see WB maybe replacing him for a sequel.

Ezra Miller getting canceled by @warnerbros and @DCComics while we STILL have to fight to get bed sh1tting abuser, Amber Heard off our screens.
Let that sink in.
Ezra's accusation was taken back by the accusers. Amber Turd's is going strong.#TheFlash #JusticeForJohnnyDepp pic.twitter.com/aWFMa4HX8a

The flash but what if it was Dylan O’Brien instead of Ezra Miller pic.twitter.com/gQjbHGcv7w

Or maybe you could just get rid of Ezra Miller’s Barry and have Wally take over the DCEU Flash mantle?
— Mark Stephen Ford (@MarkStephenFord) May 9, 2022
Replacing Ezra Miller with Dylan O'Brien this late into THE FLASH's production would cost millions of dollars. Not only did the movie wrap filming months ago, but a rough cut has been put together and it's already been test screened. WB can't afford to replace them.

Warner Bros. barely dodged bad PR from Miller’s controversy during the Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore premiere. And the Harry Potter spinoff franchise is already caught in the crossfire for replacing Johnny Depp.
For those unaware, Miller was arrested earlier on March 27 for disorderly conduct at a bar in Hawaii. The actor was also slapped with a restraining order for threatening a Hawaiian couple. Furthermore, Ezra was arrested in April for a second-degree assault for allegedly throwing a chair at a 26-year-old woman. Since then, neither the studio nor the star’s publicist has responded to the incident. In fact, Warner Bros. didn’t address the issue during the screening of the sizzle reel for The Flash at CinemaCon 2022.
Speaking of O’Brien, the actor is heavily rumored to be playing Nightwing in Batgirl. Though insider/film journalist Umberto Gonzalez says he has not been officially cast in the role. Fans have long campaigned to see him play as the former Boy Wonder taking on the Nightwing mantle.
No, Dylan O'Brien is NOT replacing Ezra Miller in THE FLASH. The movie wrapped more than 5 months ago.

The Flash hits theatres on June 23, 2023.
