DC’s Studios Superman trailer teases Krypto rescuing Man of Steel, Shots of Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl & Mister Terrific in action

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no, it’s just Superman (David Corenswet) crash landing on an icy snowy area. Was Supes visiting the Fortress of Solitude? we don’t know yet but it’s quite the start for the full-length teaser trailer from James Gunn‘s first DC Studios live-action. luckily, the bleeding Man of Steel is quick to signal his best friend, Krypto the dog to rescue him away – hopefully to Kanas and not the direction of the enemy.

If DC’s Creature Commandos didn’t feel like the beginning of a new interconnected universe then the recently released Superman trailer will surely set that sentiment. Aside from offering good first looks of Corenswet in a nerdy attire as Clark Kent – the teaser also shows a glimpse of the larger worldbuilding, like the reference to Stagg Industries.

Speaking of Stagg, while the DC comic lore reference is sure to remind folks of Metamorpho -viewers are also introduced to Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific & Hawkgirl. Meanwhile, John Murphy‘s promising soundtrack helps amplify the warm & colorful tone of the film, which at times, feels like an expansion of Guardians of the Galaxy films (costumes, the Kaiju-type T-rex and what seemingly appears to be Solaris).

The teaser also assures there is more to the Superman movie than just Superheroes facing off against aliens or Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult). Glimpses of Clark Kent and Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) in Daily Planet are vividly shown. Moreover, the end of the teaser shows Lois kissing Superman which may indicate Clark reveals his superhero identity to her at some point in the movie.

Staying true to Superman’s classic nature – a scene shows the red-capped superhero rescuing a girl from what appears to be an incoming pile of cylinders being hurdled towards her due to the Kaiju’s stomp. Furthermore, a shot shows Superman holding a dying robot, possibly Kelex from the Fortress of Solitude.

Some hints like the child hoisting a Superman flag in a war-torn area suggest this version of the Man of Steel will also be the beacon of hope or try to be. However, not everyone in Metropolis sees him as the savior.

The teaser did not feature María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Neva Howell as Martha Kent and a few more significant supporting characters. Superman will arrive in theaters on July 11, 2025.
