Domino from Deadpool 2 is undoubtedly one of the audiences’ most favorite characters from the film. Concept artist Alexander Lozano recently took to Instagram to share the original designs of Zazie Beetz’s character for Tim Miller’s Deadpool 2. Miller reportedly stepped down from the sequel over creative differences, with David Leitch then coming on board.
“DOMINO!…character design for the tim miller version of deadpool 2,” Lozano captioned the pictures.
The concept artist came up with three different costume ideas for Domino’s character- a blue version, a black version with an oxygen mask and another black version that gives more of a casual feel. You can check out the Deadpool 2 Domino concept art below.
There’s another Deadpool 2 concept art already making rounds on the internet which is that of the classic X-Men foe, Juggernaut. Lozano shared an early design for Juggernaut which has a more comic accurate look.
“JUGGERNAUT! ..character design for the Tim Miller version of Deadpool 2,” Lozano posted, noting it is one of five designs.
Juggernaut’s concept art looks a bit different from the Deadpool 2 version. Notably, both Domino and Juggernaut are expected to make a return in Deadpool franchise’s next installment.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show to promote Deadpool 2’s Blu-ray release, star Ryan Reynolds revealed an early idea for the sequel that he had originally pitched to Fox. Reynolds wanted the film’s story to revolve around Deadpool trying to steal the big red chair from The Voice. Unfortunately, the studio didn’t like his idea.
“My first pitch to the studio was not met very well,” the actor explained. “I pitched them that for the sequel, the whole story of the movie would be Deadpool trying to steal the big, red chair from The Voice. And they were like ‘That’s just the dumbest thing ever.’ But the second one, it was great because it was always fun to pitch to the studio.”
Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut is available now on digital HD and hits Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 21.
