Deadpool 2: Iron Fist Actor Lewis Tan Confirms X-Force Member Role As Shatterstar

The Deadpool 2 trailer has already teased the formation of X-Force, Deadpool’s own ensemble that will try to stop Josh Brolin’s Cable as he goes after a mutant kid played by Julian Dennison. Actor Lewis Tan has finally been confirmed for the role of Shatterstar in Deadpool 2.

Tan himself took to Instagram to confirm his inclusion in the X-Force team with a post. The post in question shows a wide shot of the X-Force members with a caption asking his followers if they “recognize someone.” You can check out the post below.

Notably, soon after the release of the film’s trailer, Stefan Kapičić, the actor who plays the role of Colossus in Deadpool, confirmed in an interview that Shatterstar, who’s a member of X-Force in Marvel Comics, will indeed appear in the sequel.

That’s not CGI of Terry Crews, that is Terry Crews,” Stefan said. “You can see it clearly. You can see behind him, Shatterstar, a really cool thing for people to geek out.”

Created by Rob Liefeld, Shatterstar is trained in martial arts and has energy-focused powers. The character’s main weapon is a double-bladed sword that can be charged to send devastating shockwaves. Shatterstar wears a distinctive costume with a weird helmet design. He can be seen standing behind Deadpool and Terry Crews’ character in the picture below.

According to Box Office Pro, Deadpool 2 might not turn to be as successful as the first film. As per the report, the upcoming film is speculated to earn $100 million in its first three days as compared to the first film which grossed a then record-breaking $132 million during its first weekend. It remains to be seen if Deadpool 2 continues to do good business for the franchise.

20th Century Fox recently released a new poster for the film that shows Merc with a Mouth (Wade Wilson) giving an uncomfortable hug to Cable (Josh Brolin), and Domino (Zazie Beetz).

Deadpool 2 will debut in theatres on May 18, 2018.
