Deadpool 2 Test Screening Score Shatters Poor Response Rumor

Amid rumors that Deadpool 2 was not well received by audiences during its initial test screening, a new report claims that the film is generating better scores than the original Deadpool movie.

According to a report coming from The Hollywood Reporter, citing a source with direct knowledge, Deadpool 2 received as high as 98 in recent test screenings. Notably, the highest test screening score that the original Deadpool received was 91. As per the report, the Fox film has been tested three times in total. The scores for the first two screenings came at 91 and 97 out of 100.

During the final test, which was conducted in Dallas, audiences were shown two separate cuts, which scored a 98 and a 94. It is reported that the Fox team will now go forward with the highest scored version. It is to be noted that getting a high test score doesn’t necessarily imply that a film will do well at the box office as well. For instance, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 scored a perfect 100 during the tests. But, it could not impress audiences as much as the first Guardians film.

The fact that Deadpool 2 underwent six days of reshoots last month and that the production team was also spotted shooting in Vancouver two nights ago has left fans wondering if the upcoming film will be able to meet their expectations. In addition, the film also recently underwent two hours of filming in Los Angeles to add a secret cameo to the movie.

Rumors were amok the past week that the untitled Deadpool 2 performed poorly at test screenings. Actress Brianna Hildebrand who plays as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the film also assured that test screenings were fine.

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (Deadpool), Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers (Cable), and Zazie Beetz as Neena Thurman (Domino) in the lead roles. The film will land in theatres on May 18, 2018.
