Wolverine’s (Hugh Jackman) death might be reversible or at least for a one-off appearance in Deadpool 3 according to a new MCU rumor. While Hugh Jackman has assured his return won’t affect Logan’s ending – it could still reportedly change the outcome, all with the help of Cable’s Temporal Dial device that allows him to travel from the future in Deadpool 2.
Deadpool 2 had already explored the idea of Wolverine meeting Wade Wilson. Thanks to a little help from Negasonic and Yukio, Deadpool manages to fix Cable’s time-traveling device and goes back to the past to save his girlfriend, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and X-force member Peter.
Wade goes a step further to cleanse the X-Men Origins: Wolverine timeline to kill, well, Wade and delivers somewhat of a foretelling to Logan, “One day your old pal Wade is gonna ask you to get back in the saddle again. And when he does, say yes.”
While Jackman had made up his mind about an exit after the 2017’s Logan, watching the first Deadpool movie made him reevaluate his exit and reprise the Adamantium blade-wielding X-men member for Deadpool 3.
Deadpool saves Wolverine from dying, says an insider
According to the latest rumor from credible insider MyTimeToShineHello, the threequel will “be a direct follow-up” to Deadpool 2. So Wade going on a time-traveling errand takes him “into the future to save Wolverine from dying.” Though sadly, Deadpool’s visual appearance fails to jog Logan’s memory and wants “him gone but using a time machine and changing history will get them on the TVA’s radar.”
Earlier in November, TVA’s Miss Minutes had a cryptic exchange with the Merc with the mouth and while she dismissed her involvement in the third installment – the new report says otherwise. Readers can check it out below.
Deadpool 3 will be a direct follow-up to Deadpool 2. Wade, using Cable's time machine will travel into the future to save Wolverine from dying. Logan does not know who that guy is and want him gone but using a time machine and changing history will get them on the TVA's radar.

It seems the Time Variance Authority presumably plays the antagonist role in Deadpool 3. Moreover, Deadpool rescuing Logan from his death is likely to branch into an alternate timeline that would signal the TVA’s entrance to prune the world. While the threequel’s storyline sounds like a fun buddy cop action adventure, the events of this film could still impact the larger timeline similar to Loki.
Deadpool 3 releases on November 8, 2024.
