‘Did Batfleck forget?’ – The Flash movie TV Spot shows Barry Allen offering to save Batman’s parents by changing the past, Bruce Wayne’s reply has Snyderverse fans questioning if it’s continuity error to Batman v Superman & ZSJL

Worlds will collide in The Flash movie due to the consequences of Barry Allen running back in time to stop the death of his mother. But the speedster apparently even offers to save Batman’s (Ben Affleck) parents, Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne, as revealed in a new TV spot for the Ezra Miller starrer sci-fi multiverse pic.

WBD is leaving no stones unturned in promoting their biggest theater release of the year – DC Studios’ The Flash. Since receiving a positive early buzz at CinemaCon, the marketing team has been releasing quite a few extended promos to hype audiences for its June release.

The latest international TV Spot offers a glimpse of Barry’s interaction with DCEU’s Bruce Wayne. The Flash reveals to Batman of his ability to tap into the speed force and travel back in time. “So you’re saying… you can travel back in time?” says Bruce and seems surprised to hear about it.

Bruce appears to be caught off guard by Barry’s revelation and some Snyderverse fans are also puzzled by his reaction since the events in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice showed Bruce having a premonition-of-sorts, a dream where Barry from the future warns him of Superman possibly going rogue.

Snyderverse fans question if The Flash retcons Batman v Superman and ZSJL after hearing Bruce Wayne’s reply

Batfleck warning Barry of the possibility that he “could destroy everything” by running back in time has been shown since the first official trailer. But the recent promo clip suggests Bruce seems to be new to the concept of time travel. It’s unclear if this could be a continuity error to the BvS arc or rather Bruce considers it to be just a nightmare. Some fans have also questioned if this could be an indication that the Speedster movie does not consider Zack Snyder’s Justice League canon. Still, It’s also possible Bruce simply questions the nature of it even though he is well aware of the speedster’s capability to alter past & future events.

The Flashpoint comic and animated adaptation (which has influenced the live-action) does offer a heartwarming moment for the present world Bruce to cherish his parents but it’s unclear if the live-action also follows the same route. Meanwhile, one piece of information that’s sure to catch fans’ attention from the extended footage was when Barry offers to save Bruce Wayne’s parents. Readers can check out the international promo clip below.

It’s unlikely for Andy Muschietti to ignore the events that transpired in BvS since the speedster feature uses moments from the Snyderverse films, mainly Man of Steel in The Flash. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see where the DCEU’s storyline ends up by the end, especially since the multiverse film is expected to hit the reset button on the interconnected universe to allow for Gunn’s DCU to kick off.

The Flash will arrive in theaters on June 16.
