‘Didn’t keep Bucky’s arm’ – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 TV spot teases Nebula’s upgraded arm, James Gunn says courtesy of Rocket, fans react to Adam Warlock’s cosmic energy & more

Nebula’s upgraded arm is packing some real firepower in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but it’s far from being the only takeaway shown in the latest TV spot titled ‘Relax’. Brief shots of Baby Rocket Raccoon cackling and Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) powering to blast off his cosmic energy have MCU fans electrified for the threequel’s release this May.

Marvel Studios is leaving no stones unturned in promoting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with back-to-back TV spots and James Gunn sharing teasing behind-the-scenes material on social media. While marketing has kept Rocket Raccoon’s somber backstory front and center since early trailers, the new promo has GOTG fans feverish over a teasing scene of Nebula with a new and improved arm capable of shooting destructive energy blasts.

From the looks of it, the mechanical arm could be transformed into a canon-Esque weapon or function as a normal arm. The shot, in particular, was retweeted by Karen Gillan, “New Arm who dis?” to which The Guardians director James Gunn replied, “Courtesy Rocket”.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special addressed Nebula gifting Bucky’s arm to Rocket Raccoon as a present for Christmas. While there’s no doubt Rocket is behind her fire-power-inducing arm, fans wonder if he repurposed the same prosthetic arm Bucky had received from Wakanda.

It should be noted that Nebula’s arm does have the yellow lining which was noticeable in Bucky’s earlier arm design. If Rocket did repurpose the cybernetic implant that Bucky got from Wakanda – Nebula’s left arm is vibranium and would be the perfect weapon to fight against The High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) & his forces on Counter-Earth.

The recent promotional clips have also begun showing glimpses of Adam Warlock. The character was teased in Vol. 2’s post-credits scene. Brief scenes of Adam Warlock vs. Drax and the Sovereign cosmic entity in flight mode were showcased. Marvel Studios have kept details on the characters in wraps though it’s clear he at least initially views the Guardians as a threat – mostly likely set off by Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) to take exact her revenge.

Directed and written by Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 also stars Sylvester Stallone reprising as Stakar Ogord, Nathan Fillion in an undisclosed live-action role similar to Daniela Melchior.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will fly into theaters on May
