Director Matt Reeves Assures Fans Ben Affleck Is The Batman

Finally, a meaningless speculation over Ben Affleck playing as The Batman in a standalone movie for DCEU has been put to rest. Furthermore, he also confirmed that he has begun working on the project since he just recently wrapped up works with War for the Planet of the Apes.

Earlier, a rumor began suggesting that Affleck could exit his role as The Batman after Justice League. While neither Warner Bros. nor the actor himself made a comment, the rumored news grew with added speculation.

A new video that just surfaced online has assured the fans in doubt that Affleck would indeed be the Dark Knight in his standalone Batman movie. Going by the footage, it looks like the interviewer was able to approach Director Matt Reeves during a screening event of War for the Planet of the Apes.

The director revealed that he finished pending works with War for the Planet of the Apes “8 days” ago. “Literally, we are only now beginning [The Batman],” said Reeves. When asked if Affleck would keep the role, Reeves seemed confident that the actor would indeed play as the Dark Knight. Fans can check it out below.

It looks like Reeves is heading to the next project with no breaks. If so, there’s also a possibility that Warner Bros. could give the masses an update on The Batman standalone movie at SDCC 2017.

While Affleck did step down from his directorial role, the actor still has a big part to play as the main star and producer of the film. Even if Reeves isn’t part of the panel at SDCC, fans can expect an update from Ben Affleck if the actor is present for the Justice League panel.
