Patty Jenkins faced a lot of hurdles helming Wonder Woman. As a female director, she came across several roadblocks and the pressure to direct the DC Film that could save the cinematic universe. Fortunately, in the end, the director was able to succeed and has shared a part of her story.
Earlier, Jenkins was on CBS The Morning to discuss Wonder Woman and how she broke barriers while she directed the DC film. The director also made a bold comment on the illogical status Wonder Woman is associated with due to her “skimpy sexy outfit.” Jenkins called it out saying it’s “sexist” to term the empowering superhero character as not an iconic to women due to her attire.
The entire interview is an eye-opener to the masses. Jenkins explains the struggle she faced directing the film and her pressure to succeed. Furthermore, she also set records straight over how the film is one of the best superhero movies.
In the interview at 2:35, a major yet obvious plot point was revealed [minor spoiler] to the viewers. “Diana leaves the Island in search of Ares, The God of War.” Fans can check it out in the video below.
Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2nd. By far, early reviews have assured that the DC film is a success among fans as well as critics.
