Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp from Ant-Man and the Wasp is director Peyton Reed’s first choice to lead Marvel Studios’ much talked about all female Marvel superhero film.
During a recent interview with Huffington Post, when Reed was asked where he sees the Wasp standing in all-female Avengers film, he said he would like to see Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne as the head of the film. The Ant-Man and the Wasp director believes that Wasp checks a lot of boxes when it comes to qualities expected of a leader, making her an ideal choice to lead.
“I’d like her running things,” Reed said. “I’d like to see her as the head of the all-female Avengers. I know Evangeline sort of said … maybe that would be Captain Marvel because she does have the word ‘captain’ in her name. But I think Hope van Dyne is a very decisive leader and a tactician, in addition to being a brilliant scientist. So she checks a lot of boxes in terms of who’s going to be running the Avengers, theoretically.”
Well, talking more about all female Avengers film, it will likely feature Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, who is the oldest and preferably the most fan-favorite Marvel female superhero along with some other newcomers including Gamora, Scarlet Witch, Nebula, Shuri, Okoye, Valkyrie and Captain Marvel.
Back in June, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Screen Rant one day soon there will be more female superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than male superheroes. So, we can expect more female superheroes to take the lead in future Marvel films.
Next year’s Captain Marvel will finally give Marvel their first female-led film. the film is se to release in theaters on March 8, 2019.
