Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones could be the next Defenders character to secure her future in the MCU or at least that is what Marvel fans are hoping for, and Disney Plus updating the series’ title card has some convinced it’s a positive sign. It’s already rumored Jessica Jones will return in the Daredevil series currently in development with Charlie Cox.
Disney Plus has made a minor change to the title card of Jessica Jones to include “AKA”. For context, the series was originally named “AKA Jessica Jones” while it was an abandoned ABC TV project and later picked up by Netflix. Even though the renaming doesn’t necessarily hint at Jones’ return – fans have taken the opportunity to share their excitement to see her arc continue.
There’s no question Cox’s Daredevil return to the MCU ushered fans’ hope for The Defenders revival, i.e., campaigning to resurrect Netflix-made Marvel shows like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher as part of the larger Marvel cinematic universe. Although Kevin Feige himself confirmed future involvement of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, Marvel Studios has yet to address their plans for the rest of The Defenders officially. But it hasn’t stopped the studio from throwing cryptic breadcrumbs to keep fandom hopes up. Readers can check out reactions below.

Disney+ has updated the title card for JESSICA JONES to the title that was originally used for the series when it was being developed at Netflix after ABC passed on it. I don't know what any of that means for the future of the show, but there you go. pic.twitter.com/AO4H7KyzAK

Could it be that Marvel wants to make a Jessica Jones show and changed the title to not make it confusing? pic.twitter.com/CKzfGV1o5H

Thoughts on the Netflix Marvel characters pictures in the MCU?
So this means we could possibly get Jessica Jones back in the MCU and since Disney Plus also changed the title to AKA Jessica Jones. pic.twitter.com/TIXOiZdafJ— SuperBatShaggy (@ArkhamBatSpidey) July 4, 2022
If you haven't noticed, in Jessica Jones' intro on Disney+, Disney added "AKA" in front of Jessica Jones.
What do you think of this?

My guess is they're gonna continue the series on Disney+ but they're gonna change the title to A.K.A. Jessica Jones. https://t.co/VCN29KFfbp

Ritter has largely remained mum though it hasn’t stopped her from sharing teasing updates, like the official promo banner for Jessica Jones with the mouse house’s OTT logo. In fact, it was her photo with Mike Colter which initially refueled fans’ desire to see both Marvel characters in upcoming MCU flicks. Rumors suggest the two could have a cameo in She-Hulk but nothing is certain at the moment.
On the bright side, the studio head teased major announcements at their SDCC’s Hall-H panel later this month. So perhaps the wait for updates is not too far away. The Defenders series is available to stream on Disney Plus.
