‘Do they kiss’: The Marvels final trailer shows Captain Marvel meet Valkyrie, teases multiverse incursion, MCU fans hope for a romantic twist & X-Men cameos

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) receives some much-needed wisdom from the King of Asgard, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) in The Marvels, as revealed in the final trailer. The Thor: Love and Thunder actress has long been rumored to have a cameo in the upcoming sequel. Marvel Studios has officially confirmed her brief appearance in the final extended promotional video teasing what the trio of superheroes will face from Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton). Surprisingly, it may also involve the X-Men.

Is the Captain Marvel sequel shipping Valkyrie and Carol Danvers as the first LGBTQ+ couple of the MCU? that’s currently one of the puzzling thoughts among fans since learning of the Asgard king’s brief appearance though it’s unclear if she will be directly involved in the fight to stop Dar-Benn’s assault on Earth.

Valkyrie’s first romantic encounter was expected in Thor: Love and Thunder after a deleted storyboard revealed a scene between the Asgard King and Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander). Although that never came to fruition, fans hoped to see Carol Danvers pitted with Valkyrie as her Queen and The Marvels movie might just lay the foundation for that possible union.

The Captain Marvel 2 final trailer also includes visuals of Monica Rambeau using her light-based power to contain a rip in the multiverse. but from the looks of it, her efforts are in vain as it appears the sequel could feature the first multiverse incursion to Earth-616 in the MCU.

A dialogue from Nick Fury, “They’re here” with glimpses of the purple-colored multiverse dimensional rip expanding is considered by fans as an all but confirmation of Marvel characters from another timeline arriving on Earth-616. Some are hoping it would introduce X-Men’s Beast (Kelsey Grammer) while others are expecting a potential tease toward variants of Captain America and Iron Man.

There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the post-credits scenes in The Marvels. It was earlier reported one of the sequences would tease the formation of the Young Avengers. But the latest insider report claims the Captain Marvel sequel would directly tie into Avengers: Secret Wars.

Meanwhile, The Marvels movie is confirmed to be under 2 hours at an estimated 105 minutes of runtime. For a feature sequel starring Ms. Marvel, Monica Rambeau and Captain Marvel – there have been questions about whether the short length could be jarring and fast-paced for audiences.

Director Nia DaCosta has defended the short length as a creative choice she aimed for. It remains to be seen if the Brie Larson-led ensemble feature could attract success along the lines of blockbusters like Doctor Strange 2 at the global box office.

The Marvels will release in theaters on November 10.
