Doctor Doom will not steal Kang’s spotlight according to MCU insider, Here’s how Secret Wars puts focus on Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man & Wolverine

Has Jonathan Major‘s trial forced Marvel Studios to steer towards sidelining Kang while Fantastic Four’s Doctor Doom takes his spot? That is the question from MCU fans since Variety published a report claiming Marvel execs have reconsidered their plans to feature Doctor Doom as the next Thanos-esque big bad for the upcoming culmination phase. Fortunately, a credible insider states otherwise and offers insight on what could be in store for audiences expecting Secret Wars (Hint: It has Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Wolverine in a buddy cop-ish setting).

The controversy stemming from Majors’ alleged domestic violence won’t die down anytime soon at least until its trial set for late November. Unfortunately for Marvel Studios, Majors’ involvement in their projects like Loki season 2 has made it difficult to wholeheartedly acknowledge his character, Kang as the main villain for the ongoing multiversal arc. Nonetheless, the Ant-Man 3 star’s performance as the Kang variant, Victor Timely has assured fans he deserves to be the trump card antagonist for the new generation of Avengers.

The aforementioned report also claims execs considered going the other route that does not involve a “Majors-led phase” after Quantumania’s abysmal box office. However, according to credible social media scooper, Doctor Doom will not replace Kang.

Meanwhile, it has also come to notice that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man are the two Marvel heroes leading the fight against the master of Time in Avengers: Secret Wars. Insider CWGST says Spidey and Logan would lead TVA’s multiversal army while Tom Holland’s Spdier-Man would be the chosen one from the MCU world/timeline.

Some speculate Holland’s spidey could get the Venom symbiote suit similar to the storyline from the Secret Wars comics. It will be interesting to see how Eddie Brock’s (Tom Hardy) symbiote could latch on to the friendly neighborhood superhero or rather it could also be an entirely new symbiote.

Some reports have also floated around the idea of Marvel Studios replacing Majors similar to the situation with Don Cheadle taking over Terrance Howard‘s role in Iron Man 2. So it’s fair to argue Kevin Feige would rather find new talent to take over the part instead of course correcting their storytelling to pivot to a different villain like Doctor Doom.
