Doctor Strange 2: detailed closer look at Wanda’s costume in Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange 2 promotions are ramping up as Marvel Studios preps MCU fans for the much-awaited sequel, Multiverse of Madness releasing next month. Marketing materials featuring Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme and Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, the two big Marvel stars of the second installment are popping up everywhere including movie theatres in the US.

Similar to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Expectations are high for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, especially since the movie is rumored to deliver a list of Fox made fan-favorite superheroes such as Patrick Stewart‘s Professor X. Rumors from insiders and eagle-eyed fans spotting clues from trailers hint at characters such as Deadpool, Superior Iron Man and even the debut of Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards and Human Torch. But Marvel is keeping the big reveals in tight wraps and continues to promote the sequel with its titular stars.

A new Doctor Strange 2 set piece was put on display at a Los Angeles movie theatre. The display features a poster from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and on the other side is a life-sized costume of Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, while Doctor Strange’s costume is in the middle. A closer look shows rips and tears on the bust, likely caused by her battles. A tiara is also placed on the head of the mannequin. Readers can check it out below.

Clearly, fans are excited by Marvel’s marketing strategy for the multiverse flick. A new Marvel cinematic Universe character called America Chavez (Xochiti Gomez) will also play a pivotal part in opening dimensions of other realities, as shown in the trailer. Some alternate timelines will showcase variants such as “Evil Strange” and “Evil Wanda”. Still, it seems the leaks so far are just the tip of the iceberg in Sam Raimi’s MCU movie since head Kevin Feige has also teased Evil Dead-esque horror elements as well.

“We want it to be a Sam Raimi movie,” Feige said to Empire Magazine. “We would give notes like, ‘This action is cool – you’re competing with Avengers and Spider-Man, no problem – but don’t forget the Sam Raimi parts.’ You will see just how Sam Raimi it is, in ways that will make fans of Evil Dead II very happy.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theatres on May 6.
