Doctor Strange 2 images of Charlize Theron’s Clea has MCU fans excited to see her with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange as on-screen couples

The first official look at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Charlize Theron as Clea is out along with another still of her standing by Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. The sequel directed by Sam Raimi explored the consequences of Wanda’s (Elizabeth Olsen) darkhold influence on the larger universe and with Clea’s introduction – Marvel fans are excited for what’s in store.

By the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it was pretty clear America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) wasn’t the only new dimension-opening character making her debut in MCU. Theron’s surprising cameo as Clea in Doctor Strange 2 mid-credits scene, though brief, had every ounce of detail for eagle-eyed fans to rest assured of her prominence in Phase 4’s multiverse arc. And that could also include some on-screen romance/relationship between the two Sorcerer Supremes. Seems like some fans have already moved on from shipping Strange and Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams),  (so much for “I love you in every universe” ?). Readers can check out reactions below.

Academy Award winner Theron is a potential powerhouse to the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to her mastery over the Dark Dimension as its Sorcerer Supreme. If her purple suit didn’t ring any bell, she’s also the niece of Dormammu, the entity that almost destroyed Earth in 2016’s Doctor Strange.  In some of the Marvel comics’ iterations, Clea and Strange even marry and have a daughter, Sofia Strange.

Clea’s cameo confirms she will appear side-by-side with Doctor Strange since the two are shown entering what looks like Earth-616’s Dark dimension from New York City. The Master of the Mystics Arts also responded by activating his third eye, a new ability he gains after reading the Darkhold.  It’s unclear if Strange has been corrupted by it though, in the comics, his third eye had no relation to evil elements but rather enhanced his abilities. In any case, if there’s anyone who could enlighten Strange about the third eye, it’s Clea.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is in theatres worldwide.
