The world premieres of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently underway in LA and while Marvel fans around the world wait to hear the first early reaction from the press – the main cast offered some teasing info on their Marvel characters in Doctor Strange 2 with Elizabeth Olsen, in particular, addressing Scarlet Witch’s arc from the Disney Plus series WandaVision. Let’s just say Wanda’s powers may have finally peaked to its fullest potential after her encounter with Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn).
WandaVision series is expected to be of significant influence to Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The trailers for Marvel Studios’ sequel have shown sequences of Wanda’s Westview home as well as her stay-at-home sitcom mom persona. The scene teases Wanda’s chaos but one can only wonder (till the film hits theatres) where Scarlet Witch’s abilities currently stand after WandaVision. Fortunately, Olsen offered a stirring response, a bit spoilery too.
Speaking to the red carpet interviewees, Olsen was asked about WandaVision finale’s cliffhanger ending which showed Wanda teasing, “I don’t understand this power yet but I’m gonna learn,” and where she currently stands in that journey. Olsen’s surprising reply, “I think she’s learned” indicates Scarlet Witch may have mastered the dark spells from the Darkhold. But executive producer Victoria Alonso was quick to chime in to say, “She can’t say anything else, you have to watch that movie.” Readers can check it out below.
Olsen’s performance in Multiverse of Madness has received high praise from fellow cast members Benedict Cumberbatch and Xochitl Gomez. Though the sequel will prioritize showing the Masters of the Mystic Arts, Wanda’s involvement is potential in kicking off the multiverse. Additionally, Wanda’s children, Billy (Julian Hilliard) and Tommy Maximoff (Jett Klyne) are anticipated to have a potential role in pushing Scarlet Witch’s dissent, which also possibly pits her against the Illuminati. Few new TV spots have even teased her confrontation against Captain Carter and Professor X.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theatres on May 6.
