Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness red carpet premiere highlights: Patrick Stewart, Hayley Atwell arrive, Eternals star shows support for Xochitl Gomez, interviews with Benedict Cumberbatch & more

For those Marvel fans still in doubt if stars Hayley Atwell and Patrick Stewart are in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness –their stunning appearance at Monday night’s world premiere is all the confirmation needed. The curtains are down on the Multiverse of Madness fever in Hollywood LA as the Red Carpet for Doctor Strange 2 came to an end with the premiere of the second installment directed by Sam Raimi. The live broadcasted event was graced with appearances from the sequel’s star-studded cast Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Xochitl Gomez, Rachel McAdams, and Benedict Wong. Here’s a highlight of the red carpet world premiere.

Marvel Studios broadcasted Doctor Strange 2’s red carpet event live as it kicked off, with the hosts taking viewers through the Multiverse of Madness-themed arena. Life-size costumes worn by Stephen Strange, Wong, Wanda and America Chavez were on display. In fact, five variant designs of Strange’s costumes were among them. And speaking of costumes – Graham Churchyard, the costume designer for the multiverse sequel was spotted with Raimi and co-producer Mitchell Bell.

One of the wholesome moments of the day was witnessing Cumberbatch running to greet his fans, as did the star during Spider-Man: No Way Home’s world premiere. The Avengers: Endgame star also spoke in high regard of his co-star Olsen and addressed what’s in store in the sequel.

Meanwhile, other notable appearances like Steward and Atwell were from stars like Lashana Lynch who was spotted posing for fans at the red carpet premiere. The star plays as a Captain Marvel variant in Doctor Strange 2. Eternals actress Lia McHugh who played as Sprite was in attendance as well and offered a few kind words for MCU’s newcomer Gomez. The young actress was spotted with executive producer Victoria Alonso and later joined by Olsen.

The event was also graced with MCU Chief Kevin Feige who shared a few words on the film’s multiverse approach and its connection to the Disney Plus series, Loki.

“There’s always a method to the Madness even in the multiverse for the Marvel dot com fans who know that Loki and Sylvie did something at the end of that series (Disney Plus’ Loki) that sort of allowed all of this to be possible. He who remains is gone and that allowed a spell to go wrong in Spider-Man: No Way Home which leads to the entire multiverse going quite mad in this,” said Feige.

Others such as Composer Danny Elfman, actors Jett Klyne and Julian Hilliard, Adam Hugill (who plays as Rintrah), Sheila Atim (Sara) & more were at the event. Readers can check it out below. But fans could not share their excitement in the live broadcast’s comment section. Marvel Studios made the shocking move to disable replies to their posts, a move to avoid further spoilers/leaks from surfacing in the broadcast post of Doctor Strange 2’s red carpet premiere.
