Last Thursday, it was announced that Joivan Wade will play as Cyborg for DC Universe’ live-action series Doom Patrol. And from the looks of it, The First Purge actor is just days from getting into the characters’ shoes as filming is all set to begin this month.
According to a listing from Production Weekly, Doom Patrol will begin principal photography on August 23 in Atlanta. To be more precise, it seems filming will take place in Lawrenceville, GA, or at least according to an open casting call from Backstage.
The casting call comes from backstage which reveals the need for extras to fill in three roles. The first description reveals the search for an actor between the age of 28-35 to play as a ‘Female Housekeeper’. People of all ethnicities can apply but must have a “Big 1980s hair, no tattoos.”
The second role requires a real-life male cop between the age of 28-45. The description states that the cop must have real police experience, Caucasian with no tattoos and clean-shaven. Lastly, a female Caucasian is required to play as a Toy Store Owner. You can head over to Backstage to check out the roles and apply.
We already know Jeremy Carver will serve as executive producer and showrunner for the show. Now, two new names have been added as directors.
The production listing has stated Glen Winter and Dermott Downs under the director role for Doom Patrol. The two are known for working on several CW shows.
Winter has served as a producer and has directed several episodes for Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Arrow.
Downs also served as a producer for The Flash’s crossover episode titled ‘Crisis on Earth-X Part 3. But he is known for directing several episodes for CW’s DCTV shows.
