Dwayne Johnson starrer Black Adam reportedly undergoes reshoots

Warner Bros. DCEU film Black Adam has been delayed again and landed an October release date, three months apart from its earlier July release – but a new report indicates it’s due to the DC film scheduled to reportedly undergo additional photography. The movie’s titular star Dwayne Johnson confirmed the release push back stating its new date arrives before Halloween and other big holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Change in the hierarchy of DC films will have to wait a little longer as Black Adam skips its summer release. The news comes with Warner Bros. changing the theatrical schedule for The Flash, Aquaman and the lost kingdom, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and more. Although Johnson didn’t reveal the reason behind the changes, a report from One Take News says the delay occurred due to Black Adam set for reshoots.

The standalone flick’s reshoots are expected to last longer than the usual timeframe. But fans can rest assured this does not mean the movie faces issues rather could involve filming pick-up shots for the betterment of the movie. It must also be noted that Black Adam’s behind-the-scenes work involved a cutting-edge approach using cameras shooting at 960 frames per second instead of the usual 24 fps feature films usually use.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is still riding on the success of The Batman so it seems the new DC Film release strategy could work in the studio’s favor since DC’s League of Super-Pets (Johnson voices Krypto) has taken up Black Adam’s release date.

Last year, Black Adam received its first positive reaction after a test screening. Added, the first trailer released during Super Bowl also amazed audiences with new character reveals such as Noah Centineo’s Atom, Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate and Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam will arrive on October 21.
