Actor Dwayne Johnson, who is currently busy promoting his new movie, Skyscraper, has revealed some interesting new update on his DC movie, Black Adam.
In a new interview with Variety, when Johnson was asked to tell something about his Black Adam movie, he said that the film’s script is currently being worked on. The actor said that he is quite happy with the way the film is shaping up.
“Black Adam is coming along,” Johnson said. “The script is coming along. I’m very happy with it. That’s a project that obviously you want to take your time [with].”
Johnson also mentioned the reconfiguration that is currently going on in the DC. He said that the guys at DC and Warner Bros are working closing with Black Adam producers to ascertain how the supervillain-turned-anti-hero’s origin story unfolds within the larger DCEU landscape.
“I think it’s in a very exciting time now, with DC, because there’s some rejiggering going on,” The Rock continued. “There’s reconfiguration going on. There’s looking at the macro map of the DC universe. And I know those guys are working diligently at DC and Warner Bros too, working closely with our producers too, to see how Black Adam unfolds in the universe. But yeah. I mean, I’m excited about it. It’s just coming along and being written.”
During another interview with German entertainment site FilmStarts, Johnson confirmed that the upcoming DC anti-hero film, Black Adam, isn’t going to be filmed at the beginning of 2019. He added that due to his busy schedule, the filming will not start until late next year.
He also went on to tease that a couple of other DC heroes might show up for cameos in the upcoming film. Although he did not reveal who will show up, Superman and Shazam! seem to be the most obvious choices.
Undateable fame screenwriter Adam Sztykiel has penned down the script for Black Adam. Unfortunately, there’s still no release date set for the upcoming film.
