Legendary rapper Eminem has teased his collaboration with upcoming film Venom in a new video posted on social media. The rapper uploaded a 15-second clip of his song that he has sung for the film, featuring an explosive beat and lyrics- Knock, knock, let the devil in. The video shows the letter E in the Venom’s logo eventually morphing into a bright red version of Eminem’s trademark backwards “E.”
You can check out the video below.
Notably, the rapper has just tagged the official Venom movie account along with the teaser video clip. So nothing much is currently known about the song.
Being a comic book fan himself, Eminem has often referenced several Marvel and DC comics characters in his music including “Superman,” “Rap God” and “River.” In fact, the rapper has even been turned into a Marvel comics character with 2009’s Eminem/The Punisher.
Talking more about the film, Venom follows the story of one of Marvel’s biggest villains who eventually discovers his superpowers after he becomes host to a wildly powerful and equally dangerous alien symbiote. The film is based on the Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes comic book storylines.
During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, director Ruben Fleischer said he believes Tom Hardy’s performance as Venom is surely going to surprise audiences.
“I think Tom is going to surprise a lot of people with his performance in this movie,” Fleischer said. “It’s just a little different than we’re used to seeing him. There’s no mask in front of his face. He’s not playing a period. He’s just playing a contemporary guy. I think it’s just a little more of Tom than people have seen in a little bit.”
When asked if fans can expect Spider-Man to show up in his famous foe’s first solo movie, the Venom director refused to confirm or deny the superhero’s appearance in the film.
“I honestly don’t know what I’m allowed to say,” Fleischer said. “I mean, I know the answer — I’ve seen the movie. But I don’t want to get in trouble for saying something I’m not supposed to.”
Arriving in theaters on Oct. 5, Venom stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying and Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake/Riot.
