Ezra Miller Assure The Flash Movie Is Definitely In Development

Warner Bros. and DC Films The Flash movie is one of those projects that’s continuously faced setbacks over and over and has mercilessly been caught in development hell. Unfortunately, Actor Ezra Miller has also been part of this nightmare as he’s remained dedicated to sticking to the project, though several directors/writers have come and exited due to creative differences. But finally, it looks like fans can hope that the standalone DC movie might not face any more hurdles.

In a recent interview with W Korea, Miller was asked about his upcoming work projects. While the actor is handling various projects, he decided to mention only the ones that are “absolutely confirmed.”  Fortunately, he first names Fantastic Beasts 3 and then The Flash movie.

“Well, I’ll tell you the ones that I can tell you about, because they’re absolutely confirmed.” Miller explained. “[They] are Fantastic Beasts 3… The Flash movie… I’m making more music with Sons of an Illustrious Father, the band I’m in. And I’m also making some music on my own.” You can check it out in the video below.

After all the mishaps and Miller’s contract which reportedly expired earlier this year, fans questioned if he would reprise his role as Barry Allen for a standalone Flash movie. But for now, it seems like Miller is part of the planned Flash movie which will be directed by IT director Andy Muschietti and the script to be penned by Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson.

Currently, the Harry Potter prequel is set to start production in the spring of 2020. It seems likely that Fantastic Beasts 3 will be the first movie to go into production prior to The Flash as Miller also points out in the video. The Flash project could potentially be looking at an early 2021 filming start date and probably set the films’ release for sometime in 2022.  Though this throws the project four years ahead of its original plan, fans can still be happy that The Flash movie is at least going to end up seeing the light.
