Fans have their own unique ways of depicting love for their favorite actors and characters. An Avengers fan has used hundreds of Rubik’s cube to create a portrait of unarguably the most loved MCU superhero Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).
Rubik cube artist Giovanni Contardi has shared a video of two portraits of Robert Downey Jr. both with and without donning his Iron Man mask. In the video caption, the artist revealed that he used over 700 Rubik’s cubes to create the designs. You can check out the video clip below.
Tony Stark has been through a lot over the past 10 years. The journey of Downey Jr. as Iron Man began with his first MCU film titled Iron Man (2008) and there has been no looking back since then. He reprised his role again in Iron Man 2 (2010), Marvel’s crossover film The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). The Marvel superhero even took on a mentor role in his relationship with Spider-Man. He will next be seen in action in an untitled Avengers film (2019).
The evolution of Tony Stark’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in all these years has been quite significant. In Avengers: Infinity War’s commentary track, the film’s co-director Joe Russo opened up about the connection between Thanos and Tony Stark.
“The journey that Tony’s been on as a genius scientist is that the evolution of his armor. This is the best it’s ever gonna get for Tony and it’s nanotech,” Joe said. “He goes to the cutting edge of what his mind can deliver, and it still is not enough to beat Thanos. In fact, it barely keeps him in the fight.”
We will have to wait until next year to find out how Iron Man along with the rest of Avengers will finally take down the Mad Titan.
Avengers: Infinity War is now available on digital platforms, DVD, and Blu-ray. Avengers 4 is currently set to release on May 3, 2019.
