Fans react with memes to Stranger Things 4 episode 1 Chrissy’s shocking [SPOILER] by Vecna

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1’s episode 1 titled “Chapter One: The Hellfire Club” introduces newcomers Chrissy (Grace Van Dien) and Eddie (Joseph Quinn) teasing a potential romantic entangle between the two Hawkins students that fans could get behind only to shatter all hopes with a disturbing climax introducing Vecna. Netflix has released the first seven episodes of the penultimate season but viewers are already in dismay from episode 1.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 Episode 1

Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 1 ending delivered a no holds barred horror fest and unfortunately, Chrissy was the victim scaring viewers to Oblivion with her exorcism-Esque gruesome death.  But can’t say the episode didn’t give a hint of warning, especially when the first act showed Vecna preying on Chrissy’s trauma at Hawkins High school. Though, it seems Max (Sadie Sink) can somehow sense Vecna’s presence? And she has more on her plate to deal with after witnessing Billy’s death.

While it initially seemed like the 80’s metalhead Eddie might save Chrissy – he instead becomes a helpless bystander watching Vecna control Chrissy from the Upside Down, crushing and bending her body to smithereens. Clearly, viewers were left shocked and what followed is a series of hilarious (and quite accurate) reactions to Chrissy’s death scene. Some even hope Angela (Elodie Grace Orkin), Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) bully gets the same treatment from Vecna. Readers can check out reactions below.

Meanwhile, the people of Hawkins are once again of the notion the town is cursed following Chrissy’s death. Even so, the gang is getting back together for Spring Break so more trouble seems to be just along the way. But things aren’t the same, particularly with Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) possibly hinting he’s gay, as fans have long speculated. Whereas Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Murray (Brett Gelman) are left dealing with shocking news as well, Hopper is alive.

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
