The final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald did a great job at getting the Potter fans attentions especially by presenting a surprising reveal that actress Claudia Kim plays as Nagini in the movie. But it must also be noted that the Fantastic Beasts 2 final trailer eventually resulted in the film coming under fire for casting an Asian actress for the Nagini role.
While this is the last trailer, fans will still get to see some more content as TV spots with glimpses of some new footage. But the studio is also likely to release more stills from the movie.
Just earlier, Warner Bros. released some hi-res images featuring Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Dumbledore (Jude Law), Nagini, Credence (Ezra Miller) & others. But fans must note that these stills aren’t new as they were scenes that were part of the Fantastic Beasts 2 final trailer.
As usual, the hi-res stills from the trailer are visually stunning to look at. The film is indeed going to be an amazing experience to witness in theatres.
There are also stills of Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz), Porpentina (Katherine Waterston), Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) and others. You can check it out below.
In more Fantastic Beasts 2 news, JK Rowling has come under immense fire as being racially insensitive for casting South Korean actress Claudia Kim as Nagini. Rowling did respond to a tweet stating her reason behind choosing Kim for the role.
“The Naga are snake-like mythical creatures of Indonesian mythology, hence the name ‘Nagini.’ They are sometimes depicted as winged, sometimes as half-human, half-snake, Indonesia comprises a few hundred ethnic groups, including Javanese, Chinese and Betawi. Have a lovely day.” Tweet Rowling. You can check out the tweet below.
Though she offered her explanation, it doesn’t look some fans are still convinced. Kim is still yet to respond to the backlash.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will hit theatres on November 16.
