Marvel Studios seem to have different plans in store for Doctor Doom’s debut in The Fantastic Four movie. And that plan of action does not involve featuring him as the main villain of Marvel’s first family reboot in the MCU. Fans are further speculating that chief Kevin Feige could be saving the big bad for Avengers: Secret Wars.
Victor Von Doom may have to wait a little longer before making his menacing presence known throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Fantastic Four reboot has remained on the fandom’s radar ever since John Krasinski’s appeared as a variant version of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Since then, its been rumor after rumor suggesting that either The Office star would play Earth-616’s Mr. Fantastic Four or that Marvel has already shortlisted actors for the role, like the report claiming Pen Badgley was in consideration. Fortunately, Feige put an end to all the rumors after he confirmed casting announcement won’t arrive until the next D23 Expo.
While Fantastic Four is years away from seeing the light — there have been speculations that Victor Von Doom’s debut is set as a post-credits scene in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Though fans are advised to take this with a grain of salt. But readers can get behind this latest breadcrumbs from credible insider Jeff Sneider’s info on the Fantastic Four villain.
Speaking on The Hot Mic podcast, The Ankler journalist revealed that Doctor Doom is not the main villain in Fantastic Four. Marvel plans to introduce him in the mid or post-credits scene. Readers can check it out in the video below.
This seems plausible and a rational choice if Marvel Studios’ idea involves making Doctor Doom the trump card antagonist of MCU Phase 6. In fact, the character is the main villain in Secret Wars comics and the larger fandom also hopes to see him as the final boss akin to Thanos in the Avengers Infinity Saga.
So far, Marvel has only confirmed that Matt Shakman will direct the Fantastic Four movie. The ensemble flick is scheduled to arrive on Valentine’s day 2025.
