Fast X best moments recap – [Spoilers] death explained, Pete Davidson’s appearance, Roman-Tej’s banter, Aimes’ backstab twist, unexpected Indian-Kannada news anchor cameo & more

From watching the sad death (MAJOR SPOILERS) of John Cena‘s Jakob in Fast X to admiring Jason Momoa‘s unhinged performance as the film’s villain Dante Reyes – Fast and Furious 10 is packed with high stakes and jaw-dropping action scenes throughout the movie. Here is a recap of the best moments that stood out, and that includes Roman and Tej’s iconic wisecracks.

Warning: The article contains major spoilers for Fast X

The Vin Diesel starrer Fast X had a strong start at the box office thanks to acclaimed reviews and crowd-puller spoilery details leaking after the premiere, such as the involvement of Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs in the 10th installment. it all starts when trouble comes finding Dominic Toretto’s family which connects the dots to Fast Five’s antagonist – Hernan Reyes. Moreover, Revisiting the fifth installment also features scenes of Toretto and Brian’s (Paul Walker) vault heist scene  (any excuse to see Walker right?).

Jason Momoa plays the big bad as the vengeful son, Dante Reyes on a mission to fulfill his father’s last wish, “Make Toretto suffer”. And that means going after what he loves the most – Family.

Right from the first act of Fast X, Dante makes his move against Dominic by baiting Roman to take up a mission in Rome, which he believes to be a task from Mr. Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood) of the Agency. Roman (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej (Ludacris) along with Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Han (Sung Kang) soon find themselves falling for Dante’s bait and find themselves inside a truck strapped with a bomb that could lead to city-wide devastation and countless lives lost.

While Toretto and the others successfully manage to reduce the impact of the bomb by pushing it into the river – the blast radius still causes massive destruction attracting global attention. News channels from all around the world report on the blast in the capital of Italy.

Fast X raises the stakes by killing off Dominic Toretto John Cena’s Jakob

The news sequence has an Unexpected nod for Indian fans, a blink-and-you-‘ll-miss-it moment which shows a shot of an Indian media report, Public TV’s Kannada news anchor reporting on the incident.

From the looks of it, the cameo of the Indian local news channel, Public TV and its anchor H R Ranganath does not seem to be a pre-planned strategy to cater to the Indian fanbase. Moreover, the scene in question appears to be a clip from a real telecast of a news broadcast. Nonetheless, With Fast and Furious 10 having a solid start in India – the surprising cameo of an Indian Kannada news anchor had fans cheering in theaters as well as on social media.

Coming to the main element that makes Fast X a blockbuster entertainer – the antagonist carries the movie entirely till the climax thanks to Jason Momoa delivering a Joker-Esque portrayal. At moments, Dante Reyes almost breaks the fourth wall while mocking the film’s family theme. He also takes a jab at Dominic Toretto for being “so predictable”.

While the movie has a much more serious tone compared to the past titles – Fast X still delivers the much-loved humor by escalating Roman and Tej’s teasing exchange which at point turns into a fight. The scene in question plays out in London when Roman and the gang visit a place to buy guns, a contact of Ramsey where audiences are introduced to Pete Davidson as Bowie. The fight gets vibrant when Hans realizes the “fun muffins” are infused with psychedelic properties which makes it all the more fun.

Speaking of humor, while John Cena’s Jakob is not fortunate enough to have a side-by-side moment with his brother – he rather gets to have a bonding session with Dominic’s son, Little Brian. Though driving around in a 1992 Ford Mustang was not what Little Brian had planned. Sadly, Jackob sacrifices himself to allow Dominic to chase after Reyes and rescue his son.

Fast X shocks audiences with Aimes’ twist in the climax

Fast 10 could also be laying the foundational seeds to pass on the legacy to a new and younger generation. Aside from Little Brian, the inclusion of Isabel and the revelation that she is Elena Neves’s (Elsa Pataky) sister could be a door to explore after Fast X Angel Part 3.

The biggest twist of Fast X goes to Aimes’ (Alan Ritchson) arc – appearing as an egotistical new replacement taking over Mr. Nobody’s agency – he goes after Dom and his crew. Throughout the movie, Aimes tracks Toretto and ultimately captures him in Rio de Janeiro and brings him to the same bridge where Hernan Reyes met his demise.

Aimes almost goes through a redemption arc after being ambushed by Dante and his men and throws his support for Toretto. Though it seemed too good to be true as it later revealed Aimes and Dante have been working together all along – forming their alliance in Fast 5.

Last but certainly not least, the Hoover Dam scene deserves every bit of praise for the visual effects and stunts it required to be pulled off. The climatic sequence could perhaps only be topped by the post-credits scene teasing Luke Hobbs being targeted by Dante. Speaking of brief appearances, Gal Gadot‘s Gisele Yashar pops up to rescue Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) Cipher from the black site in Antarctica. Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) has a cameo role too but does not take part in the larger scheme at play due to Dante targeting his mother, Queenie (Helen Mirren).
