‘Filled with blood, guts..’: The Boys spinoff title revealed as ‘Gen V’, cast tease what to expect from College Supes series

It looks like The Boys spinoff project is well into development and for anyone wondering, the official title of the series is Gen V. A show based on College aged Supes, Generation V is currently filming and is expected to play off the same charm that Antony Starr’s Homelander and Karl Urban’s Butcher have pulled off on the ongoing fan-favorite series.

Generation V has Tara Butters and Michelle Fazekas serving as showrunners and executive producers.  The main cast has also shared a message for fans from the set of Generation V. “It’s gonna be a rollercoaster,” star Lizzie Broadway says in the video. “It’s gonna be filled with blood, guts and everything else.” Chance Perdomo added, “It’s fucked up. You’re gonna like it.”

The general reaction to the Gen V announcement is positive so far and when asked if any of The Boys’ characters could appear in the spinoff, the social media account played coy to a fans’ query. Though with The Boys season 4 set to begin filming by August, it’s possible for stars to shoot a potential cameo if that’s in the card.

All in all, it will be interesting to see The Boys portray an X-Men type Supes but rather controlled by Vought International. The plot describes Gen V as “an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

The Boys season 3 offered a glimpse of what an institution for special abled kids would look like when Hughie (Jack Quaid) went snooping around Victoria Neuman’s past. It will be interesting to explore the lives of student Supes in a changing world caused by Vought’s very own Homelander.

Generation V stars Jax Sinclair, Maddie Phillips and Reina Hardesty. Eric Kripke also serves as an executive producer along with Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and others. The series does not have a stream date attached yet.
