Just before the first Aquaman trailer release, director James Wan has shared a new picture on social media that offers a sneak peek into the much-awaited teaser trailer.
Wan took to Twitter to share a photo from the editing room with a still image from the trailer on the screen. The director noted that he is working extra hours to make sure that the first Aquaman trailer is as impactful as expected.
“Working overtime to put the finishing touches for this coming week,” Wan captioned the picture along with the hashtag #SDCC2018.
The picture in question shows Aquaman holding his classic trident with a half-submerged giant whale in the background. You can have a look at the post below.
Usually, film studios reveal their upcoming film’s trailers well in advance, but it is not the case with Aquaman which is just a couple of months away from its release. Wan had previously explained that it took them a lot of time to perfect the film’s CGI as a lot of special effects has been used to create an underwater world. This is the reason that the first Aquaman trailer is coming so late as compared to other DC movie trailers.
Fans also recently got the first glimpse of the Fisherman King (Djimon Hounsou) in a picture, courtesy Entertainment Weekly. Director James Wan explained that the team used a combination of both practical FX and CGI to complete the Fisherman people’s look in Aquaman.
Fans will set to see more of the underwater world in the first Aquaman trailer which is set to get revealed during the Warner Bros. Hall H presentation on Saturday, July 21st at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event. WB will also roll out the first Shazam! trailer as well as some exclusive footage from Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 at the upcoming event.
Aquaman will dive into theatres on December 21, 2018.
