‘Five’s reaction to sparrow ben’: Fans react to The Umbrella Academy season 3 episode 1 musical footloose, Ben and Klaus dancing & more

Just when Five (Aidan Gallagher) thought the world was back to normal, The Umbrella Academy season 3 episode 1 pit our favorite superheroes against Reginald Hargreeves’ (Colm Feore) other hand-picked adopted kids, the Sparrow Academy. Though their face-off wasn’t exactly what fans had in mind when Luther (Tom Hopper) and Marcus (Justin Cornwell) surprisingly started a footloose dance-off. The newly released season on Netflix is already making noise on social media, particularly for the new version of Ben.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 episode 1 titled “Meet the family” musical has won many hearts with that brief scene of Klaus (Robert Sheehan) and Ben’s (Justin H. Min) impressive ballroom-style dance. Though there were a few agonizing moments too, like watching Luther get beat up by Marcus. Fortunately for The Umbrella gang, Vanya’s (Elliot Page) blue luminescent energy blast was enough to call it a day. Even so, social media is imploding with hilarious meme reactions to the footloose. Readers can check it out below.

While the dance-off was fun, the culprit behind it was Jayme Hargreeves’s (Cazzie David) hallucinating venomous spit. From the looks of it, it causes the affected individual to dream their desires, or what else could explain Five dreaming of kissing Dolores. And speaking of Sparrows, the premiere episode establishes every one of them and their abilities namely, Sloane’s (Genesis Rodriguez) gravity control, Fei’s (Britne Oldford) crow summoning, Alphonso’s (Jake Epstein) ability to deflect damage and last but not the least, Christopher – the psykronium cube can paralyze with fear manipulation and control over room temperature. Aside from the musical, the next shocking revelation was Diego (David Castañeda) finding out he’s a father and to no one’s surprise, Lila (Ritu Arya) is the mother.

With the Umbrellas finding a resting spot at the Hotel Obsidian, new threat blooms in Hargreeves’s mansion, the pulsating red energy grows and Grace the robot calls it a “message from God.” It’s hard to argue when it managed to dissipate Marcus and a cute little dog. Could this be the world-ending event that Five and the rest have to face? Hopefully, the answers lie in the rest of the episodes, currently streaming on Netflix.
