Going by recent reports it looks like Warner Bros. would soon announce the director for The Flash. It has been revealed that the studios has shortlisted several directors and are close to finalizing.
According to THR, Director Matthew Vaughn, Robert Zemeckis and Sam Raimi are the three contenders that were shortlisted at the end. Furthermore, Warner Bros. has also had meetings with the three but an offer hasn’t been made yet.
The Wrap’s inside sources say that Zemeckis is the frontrunner to helm the speedster project. Adding to that, Variety says that more input which says that Vaughn is also one of the top choices.
Earlier in April, Screen Junkies broke the news that Zemeckis is in talks to helm the project. However, due to the director’s schedule to direct another film titled Marwencol, it was suggested that Warner Bros. may look past him.
Variety Film Reporter Justin Kroll also said in a recent tweet that “Marwencol conflict looked to be a deal breaker for WB.” Fans can check it out below. However, if the studio decides to name Zemeckis as the director-The Flash project would be delayed and could look to release in 2020.
Earlier, The Flash played by Ezra Miller made cameo appearances in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Currently, fans are expecting to see the speedster get down to action in the upcoming Justice League releasing on November 17th. Earlier reports also confirmed that other casts from the speedster standalone film have also played a role in JL.
