The Flash has been suffering to move ahead with its production for a long time. Since the project was greenlighted- the DC film has lost two directors. However, that hasn’t stopped Warner Bros. from being optimistic for the standalone movie.
Currently, the DC film is in the process of a complete script rewrite while the execs hunt for their third director. Recently, a rumor suggested that Warner Bros. could be close to offering a deal to the third director.
According to Screen Junkies’ Andy Signore, Warner Bros. is looking to the sign the deal with Back to the Future’s director to helm The Flash. Here’s what he had to say.
“I’ve heard from multiple sources that Robert Zemeckis is in talks to direct The Flash movie,” said Signore. Fans can check it out in the video below.
Since Signore came out with the news, fans have been thrilled and hoping that Zemeckis seals the deal. However, there is more to the story.
The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez tweeted saying that the rumor isn’t exactly what it says. “Not true. NOT in talks. He took a meeting and that is it. They’re still meeting with other directors,” wrote Gonzalez. The tweet is embedded below.
The conversation carried on as Signore also jumped in to support his statement. Gonzalez clarified that Zemeckis has not yet been offered any deal. Moreover, the execs at Warner Bros. have also been meeting other directors as well.
Currently, we suggest readers to take the Zemeckis rumor news with a pinch of salt. But Zemeckis would surely be a perfect choice to helm The Flash standalone movie.
