Channing Tatum’s Gambit to be directed by Gore Verbinski is rumored to shoot in New Orleans for ten weeks, starting from March 2018. Even though most of the film will be shot in New Orleans, London and Paris too might be possible shooting locales.
The cast and crew of Gambit, as per Omega Underground will spend ten weeks shooting for the film in New Orleans, starting from March next year. The website is also speculating multiple shooting locations for the film.
Few outdoor shooting and stage work might take place at Big Easy Studios, where Logan and Dawn of The Planet of the Apes were shot. This is likely to take a little more than two months. If Bella Donna is Parisian in the film, there is every likelihood of a few scenes being shot in Paris, according to Omega. Similarly, shooting locale can shift to London as well if the British mutant Mister Sinister shows up.
Another reason for mentioning London as a possible shooting locale for Gambit is the fact that the lead hero Channing Tatum will be producing Zombie Brother, another comic book film. The film, to be directed by David Sandberg (Kung Fury) will begin its shooting between March and June. Tatum being the producer of the film might choose to stay close. Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden is also being named as a possible shooting location.
Even though Gambit movie is not expected to hit the theaters until 2019, details of the film have been making its way out every now and then. While the news of start date of shooting for the film is nothing new, there have been reports of the Fox studio hiring production designer Jess Gonchor for the film. Lizzy Caplan will be playing the leading lady in this X-Men spin-off film in which Tatum will play the title role. The actor will also be producing the film along with Reid Carolin, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner. Josh Zetumer has written the screenplay for the film.
Gambit is scheduled to release in theaters on February 14, 2019.
