Game of Thrones Actor Kit Harington Almost Died When He Was Four Years Old

Game of Thrones fans have been pouring love and affection for their favorite Kit Harington since the television series’ debut back in 2011. Harington’s character Jon Snow is undoubtedly one of the most loved characters from the show.

During a recent interview with, Harington revealed about a horrifying near-death experience which he encountered when he was just four years old. He got into difficulties in the water but was rescued mere seconds before it was too late.

Once, I nearly drowned in a swimming pool. When I was four. I was seconds away from death, apparently,” Harington said.

In a previous interview with The Sun, Kit Harrington detailed about the incident that took place while he was filming the movie Spooks. He admitted that a stunt he carried out for the film went badly wrong and almost killed him.

I wasn’t meant to go through that wall. That was a mistake. It worked brilliantly on film but it hurt like hell. If you slow it right down you can see me lose consciousness for a second,” Harington recalled.

The 31-year-old actor is now starring alongside Johnny Flynn in new play True West which features a whole lot of sibling rivalry. Harington revealed that he had the same sibling equation with his older brother in real life.

My older brother will find this play hilarious, because he used to kick the s**t out of me,” the Game of Thrones actor told the Sunday Times magazine. “We’re very, very close, but we fought when we were younger. There’s something in this play that appeals to that side of me and my brother’s relationship, way back when. We were quite competitive. I won’t tell you what my brother used to do to me, because it was horrible…Actually, my brother attributes my whole career to the fact that I learnt to play at crying early on, being a little s**t. He didn’t actually have to beat the c**p out of me to get into trouble.”

Kit Harington will next appear as Jon Snow in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones which is set to air in 2019. HBO is yet to officially announce Game of Thrones season 8 release date.
