HBO’s popular fantasy series Game of Thrones has undoubtedly crossed all the boundaries in terms of popularity. From Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Sansa Stark to Daenerys Targaryen, almost every GOT character has received a lot of love from fans from all over the world.
Considering the show’s ever-growing popularity, New York-based Brewery Ommegang has partnered with HBO to launch a Game of Thrones-themed beer called King in the North. The King in the North beer, which draws inspiration from Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), is the last of four special beers from the brewery’s Game of Thrones-inspired Royal Reserve Collection.
The four limited-release beers have been designed and brewed as an homage to characters battling for control over the Seven Kingdoms.
Brewery Ommegang’s website describes King in the North as a barrel-aged imperial stout that’s “brewed to sustain a leader through a long, dark night.”
As per the description, the beer will have aromas of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate blend with those of oak, bourbon, and vanilla. Its flavor is rich and full with notes of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and roasted malt up front followed by smooth bourbon and a hint of oak.
King in the North will be available to buy at Brewery Ommegang and other retail stores on Black Friday, which falls on November 23 this year. The beer will be available both on draft and in 750ml bottles for $12.99.
Notably, the beer will also be sold as part of a gift pack along with the other three Royal Reserve collection beers including Hand of the Queen, a barleywine, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, a sour blonde blend, and Mother of Dragons, a smoked porter and kriek blend. The $24.99 gift pack will also include a collectible Game of Thrones glass.
The final season of Game of Thrones is expected to debut on HBO in 2019.
