Game of Thrones Season 8 Script Are Erased Automatically After Filming

HBO’s enormously popular series Game of Thrones is currently filming it’s eighth and final season. Meanwhile, the showrunners are doing everything in order to avoid any security breach and spoilers leak. According to the actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role of Jammie Lannister, revealed the new way the crew members are trying to keep the script under the wraps.

It is true Game of Thrones has suffered several leaks in the past. Much before the release of the season or an episode, both scripts and episodes have been leaked on the internet impacting the actual release.

Speaking to Elite Daily at Cannes, Coster-Waldau revealed that the security has been tightened for the most highly anticipated Game of Thrones Season 8. As per the actor, they are using self-destructive scripts as a protective measure. This means that the script gets deleted automatically after the filming is of a scene is finished.

They’re very very strict. It’s reached a crazy level this year,” Costar-Waldau told the abovementioned publication. “We actually get the scripts, and then when we’ve shot the scene — and we only have it digitally — and then when you’ve done the scene, it just vanishes. It’s like Mission: Impossible. ‘This will self-destruct.’”

In addition, the actor talked about the ending of Game of Thrones. While he refrained from revealing any specific details, the actor revealed that the series is ending “the right way.”

I also know that we end the right way and the show ends on its own terms. When I read the scripts for the last season, I was like, ‘Wow, they really pulled it off.’ It’s one story from season 1 to 9 and it makes sense,” Costar-Waldau adds.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones Season 8 has reached its final leg of filming. They continue to shoot in Belfast. The actor is quite thrilled with how the show is coming to an end. However, he is sad that this chapter of his life is over. He reveals that he is going to miss the people he worked with and Belfast, where they have been shooting for nine years.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will air in the year 2019. The network is yet to reveal is actual air date.
